A complex building of Aberdeen’s original parish church, with a 12th century transept, refurbished 15th century vaulted lower church (variously used as a chapel, witches’ prison, soup kitchen, place of worship, for Gaelic and Russian Orthodox services). Also has an 18th century West Kirk, retaining its characteristic reformed layout, 19th century East Kirk, medieval effigies, medieval and 17th century carved woodwork, 17th century needlework, 48 bell carillon and 20th century Scottish stained glass.
