The house which Sir Walter Scott built in 1822, on the site of the Cantley Hall farmhouse, and where he lived until he died in 1832 and many of the trees he planted himself.
Scott's collection of historical relics, including armour and weapons, Rob Roy's gun and Montrose's sword are on display: his library with over 9000 rare volumes, and other rooms including the chapel are worth a visit.
