Set deep in the shelter of Leigh Woods, the village was once the property of the Abbey of St Augustine in Bristol. From Nightingale Valley there are excellent views of the Clifton Suspension Bridge.
Leigh Court where Charles II sheltered from his enemies dates from 1814 when it was rebuilt in the Greek Classical style.
